Salt Of The Earth Weighted Gear makes three styles of smaller weighted products for seated and reclining use. Each one is custom made and can be ordered in the weight and fabric you choose.

Weighted Lap Pads

Lap pads measure approximately 12 by 16 inches, according to weight, and are used in a seated position. They are excellent in school situations where prolonged sitting is required.

Weighted Lap Wraps

Lap wraps are a little more versatile. They can be draped over the lap or folded on the lap, and they can be placed over areas of the body in a reclined position.

Weighted Shoulder Wraps

Shoulder wraps are surprisingly comforting. They can be placed around the shoulders in a seated position, or placed over the chest in a reclining position, providing the calming sensation of hands pressing gently on the shoulders.

Choosing a Weight for a Lap Pad, Lap Wrap or Shoulder Wrap

Lap pads are offered from 2 pounds through 8 pounds, lap wraps from 2 pounds through 8 pounds, and shoulder wraps from 3 pounds through 8 pounds. If you are unsure which weight is right, review the weight guidance on this site or call and ask for Annie before ordering.

Choosing a Fabric

Every lap pad, lap wrap and shoulder wrap is made to order in the fabric you select. Browse the blanket fabric collections and the vest fabric collections linked on this page, then enter the fabric number and description in the order form when you add the item to your cart.

Ordering, Timing and Rush Options

All orders are custom made and take about 3 weeks (4 weeks for vests). If you just can't wait that long, a rush can put someone on overtime and get your order into the mail in 7 to 10 days (two weeks for vests). The rush charge is $15.00 for blankets and vests and $6.00 for lap pads, lap wraps, shoulder wraps, size LB and size T. If you add a rush to one item in your order, you will need to add one for each additional item unless it is a pre made item.

Weighted products are not to be used without adult supervision. They are not to be used doubled or placed over the face. Never use a weighted product to confine or restrict movement.
