| ABOUT VEST WEIGHTS After several years of making weighted vests, we at SALT OF THE EARTH WEIGHTED GEAR are convinced that 10% of the user's weight is usually too much weight for effective comfort in extended wear. We recommend 8% for users of 100 pounds or less. We recommend even less for users over 100 pounds. For persons weighing 150 pounds or more, no matter how heavy they are, more than 10 pounds is usually uncomfortable after a short time. We recommend the following chart: Up to 100 pounds - 8 % of the user's weight. From 100 to 150 pounds - 7 % of the user's weight. From 150 to 200 pounds - 5 % of the user's weight. Vests ordered with removable weights come with an extra 2%. These calculations are not professional, but a result of making and selling weighted vests to a wide variety of persons.
